The 3rd International Conference 11 - 16 October 1999
Organized by Forestry Research Institute and Kookmin University
Sponsored by the Korea Science and Engineering Foundation and Under the Auspices of the Ecological Society of Korea and INVITATION
The Organizing Committee for the 3rd International Conference on Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) in the East Asia-Pacific Region is pleased to invite you to participate in the 3rd Regional Conference on LTER and Biodiversity Conservation to be held in Seoul, Korea, from 11 to 16 October 1999.
This Conference is held to discuss various issues on the activation of Long-Term Ecological Research and the promotion of the activities on biodiversity conservation within the region by exchanging scientific information and experiences. Before the Conference, a bilateral Korea-U.S. Joint Seminar to identify and address key questions on up-to-date LTER issues in regional as well as global scale will be held as a satellite meeting for the purpose of identifying priority areas for future cooperative research, supported by both the Korea Science and Engineering Foundation (KOSEF) and the U.S. National Science Foundation (US NSF).
It is expected that more than 50 papers from more than 10 countries will be presented during the period. You can also have excursion to Kwangnung Experimental Forest LTER site, Hallasan National Park site in Chejudo Island, and some cultural heritages in Korea.
We look forward to seeing you in October 1999 and expect that your stay in Korea will be both rewarding and enjoyable.
Sincerely yours,
Eun-Shik Kim, Ph.D. Jeong Soo Oh, Ph.D. ORGANIZING COMMITTEE
